Monoecious

Denomination for plants that have sexual organs of both sexes in a single individual. These plants are naturally hermaphrodites. But despite the fact that the same individual produces gametes of both sexes, many plants are not capable of self-fertilization, requiring the union of gametes from two different individuals to produce fertile seeds. E.g. Orchid.
