It is a type of dry and dehiscent fruit, consisting of two carpels. Inside there is a flat septum, where the seeds are inserted, on both sides (enclosing them in each of the two locules formed). This septum, at the opening of the fruit, is detached from both carpels, exposing the seeds to the wind. Ex. Yellow Ipe.
