They are part of the group of flowering plants (Phanerogams), grouped in the Magnoliophyta Division of the Spermatophytes group. The main features of Angiosperms include ovules and pollen grains enclosed in modified leaves entirely enclosed about them, respectively the carpel and the anther. Angio means protection, and sperma means seed. In this way, Angiosperms are those plants whose seeds are protected, enclosed in a fruit at least until the moment of maturation. Angiosperms are divided into two major classes monocotyledons and dicotyledons.
