Bract

It is a foliaceous structure associated with the inflorescences of Angiosperms. They have a foliar origin and their original function is to protect the inflorescence or the flowers in development. Many, however, have an attractive function for pollinators, through their shape and bright colors, resembling the petals and sepals of flowers.
