Hydrocarbonated organic compound, which constitutes the solid part of plants and mainly of the walls of cells and fibers. Long chain molecule made up of glucose subunits. It is the substance obtained by dissolving and dehydrating the main component of the plant cell wall, through mechanical and chemical processes, and destined to serve as raw material for the paper, cardboard and similar industries.
