It is the destruction of the soil and its transport in general made by rainwater, by the wind or, even, by the action of ice, when this acts expanding the material in which the frozen water infiltrates. Erosion destroys the structures (sands, clays, oxides and humus) that make up the soil. These are transported to the lower parts of the reliefs and will generally silt up water courses.
