Grafting

Method of asexual propagation of plants, in which two individuals are used: the horse and the rider (rootstock and graft). The horse is the plant that will receive the grafting, it is chosen due to its good ability to adapt to the environment, resistance to diseases, among other productive qualities. The graft is usually a cutting from a plant well accepted by the market, either for its beauty or the taste of its fruits. The union of individuals normally aims to enhance the productive capacity of the graft plant. Examples of commonly grafted plants: Rose, orange, grapevine.
